Fort Fox

(north side of the Mohawk River)
The fortified home of militia captain Christopher P. Fox. The fort was built c.1778 and served until the end of the war in 1783. It stood adjacent to the Palatine Church. The fort served as a neighborhood refuge and was garrisoned mainly by local militia.
