Fort Timmerman
6 miles northwest of Fort Plain
(north side of the Mohawk River)
The fortified home and mill of Jacob Timmerman. This was another neighborhood refuge and militia fort at what is now the village of St. Johnsville. The Timmerman house was dismantled and rebuilt at a nearby site after the war. The rebuilt structure is still standing and privately owned.
